Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics

Skiing in Cortina d’Ampezzo during the 2026 Olympics?

Absolutely yes!

The 2025/26 winter season will be one of the most unforgettable ever for Cortina d’Ampezzo. With the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games taking place from February 6 to 22 and March 6 to 15, the Queen of the Dolomites will offer not only world-class sporting events but also the chance to ski on most of its slopes throughout the season.

Until 12 January 2026, all lifts and ski slopes in Cortina will be fully operational. From mid-January, preparations for the Olympic Games will begin, with gradual and limited closures affecting only the Tofana area (Olympia and Labirinti slopes), while the rest of the ski area will continue to offer a wide and varied skiing experience.

During the Olympic and Paralympic period, the main ski areas will remain open and accessible, including 5 Torri, Lagazuoi, Col Gallina, Faloria/Cristallo, Pocol, San Vito di Cadore, Auronzo and Misurina, as well as the Baby slope, ideal for families and beginners.

To ensure smooth travel during the Games, a vehicle pass system will be in place and ski bus and public transport services will be enhanced.

Once the Games have concluded, starting from 16 March 2026, the Tofana area will also quickly reopen, allowing the ski season to extend into spring.

Update – Skiing and access to the slopes during the 2026 Games

During the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Games, access to the ski slopes without a Vehicle Pass will be guaranteed through strategic access points that allow skiers to avoid the town centre. These include Faloria (via the SS48 road with parking available at Rio Gere), Lagazuoi, Col Gallina, 5 Torri and Pocol, accessible via the SS48 road, Passo Valparola or Passo Giau, with dedicated parking areas at Lagazuoi, Bai de Dones, Col Gallina and Fedare, as well as connections via the Cortina Skyline lift.

No limitations apply to the ski areas of San Vito di Cadore, Auronzo and Misurina, which will remain fully operational throughout the entire season.

From 6 February to 15 March 2026, the Courtesy Rate will be available, offering a 20% discount on daily and multi-day valley ski passes. This special rate is designed to support skiers during the Olympic and Paralympic period, ensuring quality, accessibility and a skiing experience worthy of Cortina.
