The Faloria Bike Express is the big new addition to Cortina’s summer 2026 season: a brand-new MTB trail winding through forests and breathtaking mountain scenery. The Faloria Cable Car, the main access point to the trail, will also reopen on July 11.
Summer 2026 brings an exciting new attraction for mountain bike enthusiasts in Cortina d’Ampezzo: the Faloria Bike Express, the first trail entirely dedicated to mountain biking on Mount Faloria.
This new route enhances the outdoor offering of the Faloria-Cristallo area and responds to the growing demand for nature-based experiences, allowing visitors to discover Mount Faloria from a completely new perspective. Surrounded by forests, stunning views, and the extraordinary landscapes of the UNESCO-listed Dolomites, it promises an unforgettable ride.
The Faloria Bike Express connects the upper Faloria station with Rio Gere via a 4.38-kilometre trail immersed in the forest.
With approximately 410 metres of downhill elevation loss and an average riding time of around 20 minutes, the route has been designed to be accessible to a wide range of riders, offering a smooth and enjoyable experience through the spectacular scenery of Mount Faloria.
The trail follows the mountainside throughout its entire length, providing stunning views of the Dolomites around Cortina and offering an active and sustainable way to experience nature.
Once in Rio Gere, mountain bikers can either return to Cortina via the forest roads or extend their ride by taking advantage of the connection with the Rio Gere–Son Forca chairlift.
From there, riders can continue through Val Padeon towards Ospitale and return to Cortina along the route of the former Dolomites railway, creating a scenic itinerary that explores different areas of the Faloria-Cristallo mountain range.
The launch of the new Faloria Bike Express coincides with the summer reopening of the Faloria Cable Car, scheduled for July 11, 2026, together with Rifugio Faloria.
In just a few minutes, the cable car connects the centre of Cortina d’Ampezzo with the mountain station at 2,123 metres above sea level, an ideal starting point for hiking, outdoor activities, and days spent in the mountains.
Completing the summer offering is Capanna Tondi, already open since June 25, a popular destination for hikers and mountain lovers alike.
