Taste, sports and nature
Every year, at the end of September, Cortina d’Ampezzo hosts the Delicious Festival Dolomiti, a unique event that combines exceptional gastronomy, trail running, and Alpine culture, set in one of the world’s most spectacular natural landscapes: the UNESCO-listed Dolomites.
The 2025 edition of the Delicious Festival Dolomiti will take place from September 24 to 28, with its headquarters in Pocol (Cortina d’Ampezzo). Registration for the competitions will open in the months leading up to the event on the official website.
Born to showcase the gastronomic excellence and the territory of the Ampezzo Dolomites, the Delicious Festival is much more than a simple culinary event.
During the weekend, participants can fully immerse themselves in local flavors through gourmet dishes prepared by renowned chefs, often served in mountain huts, along trails, and in the villages around Pocol, 5 Torri, Lagazuoi, and Passo Falzarego.
The name “Delicious” is no coincidence: each stage is designed to engage the senses, featuring creative tastings, zero-kilometer ingredients, and presentations that pay tribute to Dolomite culinary traditions with a contemporary twist.
The sporting heart of the festival is the Delicious Trail Dolomiti, a trail running race that every year attracts hundreds of enthusiasts from across Italy and abroad. The course winds through breathtaking landscapes, passing historical sites from the First World War, tunnels carved into the rock, and spectacular plateaus.
In addition to the main 43 km race, two other events are scheduled:
All routes share the same philosophy: to connect sport, nature, and culture by passing through places rich in history and beauty.
The Delicious Festival is also committed to sustainability. The organizers collaborate with local authorities and associations to promote environmentally friendly practices, reduce ecological impact, and enhance the territory through slow and responsible tourism.
Additionally, part of the proceeds is allocated to trail maintenance and the preservation of historic mountain huts.
The Delicious Festival Dolomiti program is not just for athletes. Throughout the weekend, there are activities for families, guided hikes, workshops for children, concerts in the mountains, and meetings with chefs, athletes, and artists. Many mountain huts and restaurants participate with special menus, tastings, and showcooking, making the experience appealing even to those who simply want to enjoy the best of mountain cuisine.
