Dobbiaco–Cortina Cross-Country Ski Race

Since 1977, the Dobbiaco–Cortina Granfondo has been one of the most eagerly awaited events on the international cross-country skiing calendar. Second only to the Marcialonga among Italy’s granfondos, it has earned worldwide recognition—hosting a stage of the Tour de Ski in 2010.

The sporting weekend will take place on February 6-7, 2027, featuring two spectacular races:

• 42 km Classic Technique (Saturday) – starting from the former military airport in Dobbiaco, the course turns into Ampezzo territory, reaching its highest point at over 1,500 meters at Passo Cimabanche before returning to the Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco.
• 35 km Freestyle (Sunday) – following much of the classic route, with shorter variations near Carbonin, and finishing once again at the Dobbiaco cross-country stadium.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites, the route passes through some of the area’s most iconic landmarks: Lake Dobbiaco, Lake Landro, the spectacular views of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Val Fonda, and the historic Cimabanche Pass marking the border between South Tyrol and Veneto. A course that blends history, sport, and nature, making this event a true celebration for athletes and Nordic skiing enthusiasts alike.

In 2026, the Dobbiaco–Cortina Granfondo takes on an even deeper meaning, carrying forward nearly fifty years of tradition in an Olympic year, and reaffirming its status as an unmissable event for those who love cross-country skiing and great winter challenges in the Dolomites.
