Una Montagna di Libri is Cortina d’Ampezzo’s renowned literary festival, bringing some of the world’s leading voices in literature, journalism, philosophy and culture to the heart of the Dolomites for more than fifteen years. Held twice a year, in summer and winter, the festival transforms Cortina into a unique meeting place for Italian and international authors and thinkers.
More than a series of book presentations, the festival creates meaningful conversations between authors and audiences, offering moments of reflection, inspiration and cultural exchange in one of the most spectacular alpine settings. The programme ranges from fiction and non-fiction to current affairs and poetry, with a wide selection of free events open to everyone.
The Summer Edition takes place every year from late June to early September, while the Winter Edition runs from early December to mid-March, bringing a vibrant cultural calendar to Cortina throughout the snowy season.
The 2026 Summer Edition of Una Montagna di Libri will return to Cortina d’Ampezzo from 11 July to 6 September, featuring an inspiring programme of literary and cultural events. The festival will open with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk, followed by dozens of acclaimed Italian and international authors and speakers who will gather in the Dolomites throughout the summer to share ideas, stories and perspectives.
