The GREAT Ride

On September 10, 2026, The GREAT Ride returns — the non-competitive bikepacking event connecting Milan to Cortina d’Ampezzo through art cities, rolling hills, historic villages, and the spectacular landscapes of the UNESCO Dolomites.

Following the success of its first edition, The GREAT Ride offers a new two-wheel adventure designed for travelers who love cycle touring, slow travel, and the freedom of discovering a destination at their own pace. The event is open to different types of bicycles, including gravel bikes, MTBs, and e-bikes, making the experience even more accessible and inclusive.

More than just a sporting event, The GREAT Ride is an immersive journey combining sport, sustainability, and destination discovery, symbolically following the connection between Milan and Cortina, the host cities of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

The route crosses some of the most fascinating areas of Northern Italy, between Lombardia and Veneto, before reaching the heart of the Dolomites. Arriving in Cortina d’Ampezzo represents the final highlight of the experience: the Queen of the Dolomites will welcome participants in one of the world’s most iconic mountain settings.

The GREAT Ride was also created to enhance the Olympic territories and promote a more sustainable and conscious approach to tourism.
