The most common route follows the A4 Milan–Venice motorway, exiting at Belluno, then continuing along the SS51 Alemagna road to Cortina. During the winter season, winter tyres or snow chains are recommended.
Cortina d’Ampezzo is not directly connected to the railway network. From Milan, it is possible to travel by train to Mestre, Conegliano or Calalzo di Cadore, with possible changes in Mestre or Treviso depending on the route.
