Cadin Summer Festival and Cadin Night Run
On Saturday, July 18, 2026, the Cadin District (Sestiere di Cadin) will officially open the season of Cortina d’Ampezzo’s traditional district festivals with the Cadin Summer Festival.
The event will take place on the grounds of the Cortina Ice Stadium, from 10:00 AM to midnight, and marks the first major community celebration of the summer dedicated to the long-standing traditions of Cortina’s historic districts.
One of the most anticipated highlights of the day is the 39th Cadin Night Run, a traditional running event that brings together children, teenagers, and adults every year.
The sports program begins at 5:00 PM with the Baby March, a 500-meter route reserved for children born in 2020 or later. At 5:30 PM, participants born between 2017 and 2019, as well as children born between 2013 and 2016, can join the Mini March, a 2-kilometer course. At 6:00 PM, the traditional District Tour (Giro del Sestiere) will start, a non-competitive 5-kilometer walk open to Youth, Junior, Senior, and Veteran categories.
Registration is available at the starting area up to 30 minutes before the beginning of each race.
The historic districts, known as sestieri, are at the heart of Cortina d’Ampezzo’s cultural heritage. The Ampezzo Valley has traditionally been divided into six Sestieri: Alverà , Azon, Cadin, Chiave, Cortina, and Zuel.
Originally established as territorial divisions of the valley, the districts still maintain a strong sense of identity and community spirit. Throughout the year, they organize numerous events and initiatives that bring together both residents and visitors.
The traditional summer festivals are among the most anticipated events of the season, offering a unique opportunity to experience local traditions, regional cuisine, and the welcoming community spirit that makes Cortina d’Ampezzo so special.
