href=\"https:\/\/cortinadampezzo.it\/en\/history\/\"><b> crossroads of multiple cultures<\/b><\/a>: this is why discussing the area of &#8220;<i>Cortina and its neighbors<\/i>&#8221; holds a very specific meaning.<\/p><p>Cortina stands out precisely for its unique <b>character<\/b>, which blends <b>Alpine, Ladin, Venetian, and Italian influences.<\/b> It thrives on the balance and harmony between these diverse elements, which, although very different, are essential in making it inimitable, stunning, and unique. <\/p><p><b>For Cortina, stepping beyond its own boundaries is almost natural<\/b>: it is a valley, yet also a &#8220;court&#8221; that has developed at the crossroads of two directions from north and south, and from east and west. If we look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.veneto.eu\/EN\/UNESCO_Heritage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UNESCO World Heritage sites of Veneto<\/a>, Cortina is located along the axis that connects Venice to the Prosecco Hills, extending all the way to the Queen of the Dolomites.  <\/p><p>Delving into the stunning Dolomite area, we\u2019ll find that next to Cortina lies the municipality of Auronzo, with its <b>Tre Cime di Lavaredo<\/b> and <b>Lake Misurina<\/b>.<\/p><p>Still in Cadore, in San Vito, for instance, you can admire <b>Monte Antelao<\/b>,<b> the King of the Dolomites with its 3,264 meters of altitude<\/b>, making it the second highest peak after Marmolada. Here, with a pleasant walk, you can relax on the shores of <b>Lake Mosigo<\/b>, which has been featured in numerous episodes of the TV series Un passo dal Cielo. If you venture into the nearby <i>Trentino-Alto Adige<\/i> region, you\u2019ll find <b>San Candido<\/b> less than an hour from Cortina, as well as <b>Brunico, Bolzano, and Merano<\/b>.
